With special guest Mimi Amaral, we discuss the many painful challenges of caregiving for a loved one. To be a consistent, loving caregiver requires facing and dealing with emotions such as anger, fear, sadness and grief, and developing a sensitivity to how those emotions feel in the body. It requires a true dedication to self-care, including releasing those emotions through exercise, nutrition, rest, and avoiding sources of negative energy drain. Some of the practical issues caregivers must be familiar with include hospice or palliative care, medications, and family dynamics.
